Meet Maru
The style
To maintain a comic book feel, this project uses a post process shader to create comic dots in lit areas and hatching in shadow areas. This PP shader was made in blender using shader editor.
The textures are hand-painted in substance painter using different brushes, creating a different feeling in 3d.
Hair uses a unique hair shader that uses customizable gradient as its color.
The anatomy proportions are made to be similar to spiderverse and also from japanese comics.
Highway the animation
what places does this highway takes you to?
First city that appears is a cyberpunk city with all the neon-pink and blue colors are located in a planet which has a pink artificial star.
This star is one of the few furnaces in the galaxy. Furnaces are used to power whole planets.
Second city is in a desert planet which there are no green foliage, whole planets ecosystem started underground in the huge caverns it has.
humanity made up the way on the surface and built massive structures for them to live in.
the firestorms are one of the most dangerous phenomenons in this planet. Due to the lack of water underground and on majority of the surface they occur frequently.
The third city with a green radioactive star is habited by non-human intelligent beings who are evolved to withstand intense solar radiation.
the circular architecture they use is a reflection of the beliefs they have.
